Terms and Conditions

1. Products

a) Machined to order products

i) Please note that most products are machined to your order specification and as such we cannot accept returns, or issue refunds for these goods once they are machined. This is in accordance with the Consumers Rights Act 2015.

ii) As products are machined to order, machine set ups can vary slightly causing variations in mouldings. Customers accept that profiles may vary between batches.

iii) Skirtings R Us reserves the right to sharpen its tooling, customers accept that as a result of this profiles amy vary between batches.

 

2. Delivery

i) Delivery will be carried out by a third party courier.

ii) Deliveries will be despatched the day before a due delivery date, on a ‘next day’ service, unless otherwise specified upon ordering.

iii) We recommend that you do not book any tradesmen until your order has been delivered and checked, as unexpected circumstances can on the rare occasion cause delivery issues.

 

a) Receiving Delivery – Responsibility and Risk

i) It is the customers responsibility to ensure that an adult is made available at the delivery address to account for, open and check the delivery and sign the delivery note/POD.

ii) It is the customers responsibility to supply a full, correct address and postcode which are consistent with each other.

iii) Skirtings R Us’ responsibility for the goods ends at the point at which a delivery is accepted and confirmed on the delivery note/POD with a signature. Skirtings R Us shall not be rendered liable for any damage or shortfall subsequently discovered, once the delivery has been signed for and accepted by the customer.

iv) The endorsement of the words ‘not checked’ and ‘unexamined’ (or other words to the same effect) on a delivery note signifies acceptance of a delivery in its current condition, and will not render Skirtings R Us liable for any damage or shortfall subsequently discovered.

v) All goods must be opened and checked upon delivery. Damage or shortfall claims will only be considered if ‘DAMAGED’ or ‘SHORT' (or words to that effect) are printed on the delivery note/docket. It is the customers responsibility to ensure this is recorded properly by the delivery driver.

 - Customers will receive an email notification reminding them to do so. Products will be wrapped in bright warning tape, instructing the customer to do so.

vi) Customers may instruct us, the courier’s office or the delivery driver to ‘leave delivery without signature’. This is organised by the customer, at the customers own risk. Skirtings R Us will not be liable for any shortage or damage found subsequently.

vii) All delivery times quoted are estimates only. Your delivery estimate is displayed during the checkout process and is yours to select, before you proceed to the payment gateway.

viii) Skirtings R Us shall not be liable for consequential loss as a result of a delayed delivery.

ix) Skirtings R Us shall levy delivery charges for the physical transportation of goods from us the supplier to you the customer. Charges are not levied for the organisation of a delivery on a specific date. If Skirtings R Us fails to deliver on a requested day, they will only be liable to refund the difference between the delivery service requested and the delivery service achieved (normally a ‘next day’ service minus a ‘3 day’ service).

x) Delivery is to kerbside only due to insurance policies which govern courier companies. The customer will ensure adequate help is arranged to unload the delivery from the couriers and carry it into your property.

xi) We may decline to deliver if access to the address is not suitable for our vehicles or we deem it to be unsafe, unlawful or unreasonably difficult to do so.

 

b) Delivery Charges

i) The cost of delivery is calculated by our website and is based on the weight of products and the location of the delivery. To find out more about our delivery charges see our Delivery Information page.

ii) Delivery charges are levied to cover the cost of the transportation of goods from us the supplier to you the customer.

iii) Charges are not levied for the organisation of a specific delivery date, therefore charges will not be refunded where goods are delivered on a date other than that indicated.

iv) Delivery charges are non-refundable.

 

c) Delivery Lead Time

i) Lead time may vary depending on demand for the product and production capacity.

 

d) Delivery Areas

i) Deliveries are made throughout the UK mainland only. We are unable to deliver to; Highlands, Scottish Islands, Channel Islands, Isle of Man, Isle of Wight, Isle of Scilly, Northern Ireland.

 

e) Delivery Without Signature

i) Customers may instruct us, the courier’s office or the couriers driver to ‘leave a delivery without signature’. This is organised by the customer, at the customers own risk. Skirtings R Us will not be liable for any shortage or damage found subsequently. 

 

f) Missed or Refused Deliveries and Re-deliveries

i) Should no person be available to receive delivery, or there is inadequate help to unload the delivery leading to a delivery refusal, or when an insufficient/incorrect address or postcode are supplied, and a redelivery is requested, regardless of whether delivery was free on the order, Skirtings R Us reserves the right to charge 100% of the original delivery charge for each subsequent delivery attempt, if the delivery is still at the local delivery depot. If the delivery has been returned to the Skirtings R Us premises, or requires moving to another depot within the courier network, this charge will be 100% in addition to the cost of return. This may mean the redelivery charge is greater than the shipping cost originally paid.

ii) Deliveries which have been refused, which are machined to order, but not damaged or faulty will not be refunded. If the customer requires a redelivery, regardless of whether delivery was free on the order, Skirtings R Us reserves the right to charge for both the full cost of carriage back to their premises and redelivery.

 

g) Changing Delivery Addresses and Dates

i) Skirtings R Us will despatch to the address dictated by the customer. It is the customers reaponsibility to ensure this is correct. 

ii) Customers can change their delivery address at any point by contacting us, until the product has been packaged and stacked for despatch at which point you will recieve an 'Order Ready' email, as we are unable to resticker parcels once they have been stacked. This may be several days before a delivery date.

iii) We or our courier partners cannot amend delivery addresses or dates once the order has been packaged and stacked for despatch.

 

3. Returns and Refunds

i) Most of our products are machined to your order specification, therefore we cannot offer refunds on these products once they have been machined. This is in accordance with the Consumers Rights Act 2015. This excludes our dado rail, picture rail, plinth blocks rosettes, and square skirting/architrave (at our discretion, minus the priming cost if applicable).

ii) Customers accept that we may in some cases start machining orders as soon as they have been placed in order to meet our fast lead time.

 

a) Cancelation

i) Dado rail, picture rail, plinth blocks and rosettes, which are stocked, and un-primed square products, which we can re-machine, may be cancelled at any time before they are packaged. Items that have been packaged may still be cancelled, but will be subject to a 50% restocking charge to cover the cost of processing and then unprocessing the goods.

 

b) Returning Damaged Goods

i) Damage claims will only be considered if ‘damaged’ (or words to that effect) is printed on the delivery note/docket. It is the customer’s responsibility to ensure this is recorded properly by the delivery driver. Alternatively mark the docket as damaged and refuse the delivery.

ii) Providing i) has been observed, damage must be reported to us immediately. We will need photographic evidence if you still have the delivery.

iii) Skirtings R Us will seek to rectify swiftly, reserving the right to either refund the items, or despatch replacements.

iv) Goods will need to be collected and returned before action can be taken.

v) Skirtings R Us will not take returns on any goods which have been cut, installed or used in any other way.

vi) Deliveries which have been refused, which are machined to order, but not damaged or faulty will not be refunded. If the customer requires a redelivery, Skirtings R Us reserves the right to charge for both the full cost of carriage back to their premises and redelivery, regardless of whether delivery was free on the order.

 

c) Returning Faulty Goods

i) Faulty goods must be reported within 7 calendar days of receipt of products.

ii) Skirtings R Us will need photographic evidence of the faulty items.

iii) The customer must allow Skirtings R Us to investigate the matter.

iv) The customer may be required to post a sample to Skirtings R Us in order to verify the problem.

v) Skirtings R Us reserves the right to refund, rectify or replace the order.

vi) The goods will need to be collected and returned before action is taken.

vii) Skirtings R Us will not take returns on any goods which have been cut, installed or used in any other way.

viii) Deliveries of machined to order products which are refused, but not damaged or faulty will not be refunded. If the customer requires a redelivery, Skirtings R Us reserves the right to charge for both the full cost of carriage back to their premises and redelivery, regardless of whether delivery was free on the order.

 

d) General Returns

i) Returns can be made on dado rail, picture rail, plinth blocks and rosette products, which are stocked, and on un-primed square products, which we can re-machine.

ii) Skirtings R Us should be contacted before any return is made.

iii) Returns are organised and made at the customers cost.

iv) Skirtings R Us retains the right to apply a 50% restocking charge, which will be deducted from any due refund in order to process the return.

v) Returns and refunds cannot be made on made to order products, which are not either faulty of damaged. Should we receive a made to order return, no refund will be processed. If the customer requires a redelivery, Skirtings R Us reserves the right to charge for both the full cost of carriage back to their premises and redelivery, regardless of whether delivery was free on the order.

 

4. Specification

i) Skirtings R Us strive to communicate product dimensions clearly and to that end supply free samples of products, however we shall not be held liable for any misinterpretation of communication regarding standard range profiles, as a free sampling service is available to all customers.

ii) In the event that Skirtings R Us is commissioned to cut a custom profile, it is the customers responsibility to ensure that the instruction is accurate.

iii) Skirtings R Us reserves the right to make small changes to the specification without notice, to meet our necessary quality standards. This will usually be done to avoid any possible manufacturing defects.

iv) Skirtings R Us reserves the right to supply bespoke mouldings up to a 3mm tolerance/threshold.

v) Skirtings R Us reserves the right to resharpen or replace all tooling that mey result in discrepencies between designs produced with pre replaced/ground and post replaced/ground tooling. We advise customers to ensure they order enough product in order to finish a batch on a complete room so that a new batch can be ordered for a fresh room rather than attempt to join up batches.

 

5. Warranties

i) Goods are not supplied with guarantees or warranties. 

 

6. Liability

i) Skirtings R Us are not liable for any loss in relation to the supply or delivery of goods including, but not limited to; financial; profit; goodwill or consequential loss.

ii) Damage incurred to property during delivery by Skirtings R Us courier partners should be taken up with the courier directly. Skirtings R Us are not liable for damage caused by a third parties, but will assist in directing the customer to the necessary third party.

 

6. Competition Ts & Cs and Promotion Rules

  1. Entrants must be over 18 years old on the date of their entry.
  2. The competition runs from 22nd August 2024 to 19th September 2024 at 11:59pm GMT. Entries submitted after the deadline will not be considered.
  3. How to Enter:
  • Follow skirtingsrus on Instagram.
  • Post a photo of your revamped space on Instagram.
  • Use the hashtag #InteriorDesign.
  • Tag skirtingsrus in your post.
  • Include a description of why you chose our skirting boards and architraves.
  • No Instagram? No Problem: If you don’t have an Instagram account, email your photo to sales@skirtingsrus.co.uk, and we will upload it for you.
  • Entries will be judged on creativity, aesthetic appeal, and adherence to the theme.
  • One winner will receive £100 and be featured on our website. The best photos will be added to the gallery page. Prizes are non-transferable and no cash alternatives will be offered.
  • By entering, you grant Skirtings R Us permission and its selected partners to use your photos for marketing purposes.
  • Privacy: Personal information will be used solely for administering the competition and will only be shared with our selected partners for these purposes.
  • The competition is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with, Instagram.
    1. The Promoter will not be held liable for any failure of receipt of entries. The Promoter takes no responsibility for any entries which are lost, delayed, illegible, corrupted, damaged, incomplete or otherwise invalid.
    2. Prizes are non-negotiable, non-transferable and non-refundable. No cash alternative is available. Where a Prize becomes unavailable for any reason, the promoter reserves the right to substitute that prize for a prize of equal or higher value
    3. The name, address, email address, and phone number of the winner must be provided to The Promoter if requested and will be shared with our selected partners only for competition administration purposes.​
    4. In the event of unforeseen circumstances beyond The Promoter’s reasonable control, the promoter reserves the right to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the competition or these terms and conditions, either in whole or in part, with or without notice.
    5. The Promoter's decision is final. No correspondence will be entered into.
    6. The winner’s name and social media username may be posted on the social media profiles of The Promotor after the winner has been selected.
